An anodized window refers to a window frame or component that has undergone a process called anodizing. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that enhances the surface of certain metals, particularly aluminum, to create a durable, corrosion-resistant, and attractive finish.

Here's how the anodizing process works:

Preparation: The aluminum window frame is thoroughly cleaned to remove any dirt, grease, or other contaminants from its surface.

Anodizing Bath: The cleaned aluminum frame is then immersed in an electrolytic solution (usually sulfuric acid) as the anode. A cathode is also present in the bath, and an electrical current is passed between them.

Oxidation: As the electrical current flows through the bath, oxygen ions are released at the aluminum surface, creating a controlled oxidation process. This forms a layer of aluminum oxide on the surface of the metal. This layer is hard, dense, and provides the window frame with its protective properties.

Coloration (Optional): Anodized windows can be left with their natural silvery appearance, or they can undergo a secondary process called coloration. During coloration, metal salts are introduced into the pores of the anodized layer, giving the window frame a wide range of colors while retaining the durability of the finish.
