ALUMINIUM ALLOY 6063T5 AND 6063T6

aluminium profile factory

6063 is an aluminum alloy commonly used in the manufacturing of various products, such as building materials, electronic equipment, automotive components, and more. This aluminum alloy possesses good corrosion resistance, machinability, and strength, making it widely applied in industrial manufacturing. During the production process, different states can be obtained through various heat treatment processes, including 6063t5 and 6063t6.

6063t5 refers to the state of the aluminum alloy that has been air cooled. In the process of machining and manufacturing, the 6063 alloy undergoes heat treatment followed by air cooling. This treatment can increase the hardness and strength of the aluminum alloy, improving its wear resistance and rigidity, while maintaining its good machinability. Therefore, 6063t5 is commonly used in the production of products that require high corrosion resistance and certain strength requirements, such as building doors and windows, decorative materials, ships, and more.

In contrast, 6063t6 refers to the state of the aluminum alloy that has been quenched in water. In this treatment process, the aluminum alloy is rapidly cooled to increase its hardness, strength, and tensile strength. This treatment makes the aluminum alloy harder, stronger, and more tensile than 6063t5, but it also affects its machinability. Therefore, 6063t6 is often used in the production of products that require high strength and rigidity, such as automotive components, aerospace components, mechanical equipment, and more.

Overall, the choice between 6063t5 and 6063t6 depends on the specific application of the product. If high corrosion resistance and machinability are required, 6063t5 should be chosen. If high strength and rigidity are required, 6063t6 should be chosen. In actual production, manufacturers need to consider multiple factors, such as product performance requirements, cost, and machinability, to choose the appropriate aluminum alloy state that meets market demand.
